Proctor Academy is seeking a dependable,
self-motivated individual to help run our ice rink operations this season. If
you enjoy a hands-on environment, take pride in maintaining top-tier ice
conditions, and love being part of a vibrant athletic community, this role is
for you.
What You’ll Do
As a Rink Operator, you’ll play a key
role in delivering an outstanding experience for Proctor students, families,
and visiting teams.
- Ice & Facility Maintenance: Operate our electric Zamboni resurfacer, perform daily
ice grooming/upkeep, sharpen skates, and assist with full ice installation
(September) and removal (March).
- Plant & Safety Oversight: Monitor and occasionally operate the rink's
refrigeration system while keeping facilities clean, organized, and
welcoming.
- Community Engagement:
Serve as a helpful, professional point of contact for student-athletes,
coaches, parents, and community patrons.
What We’re Looking For
- Self-Motivated & Detail-Oriented: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and work
independently as well as collaboratively across departments.
- People Skills:
Comfort interacting professionally with students, parents, and visiting
guests.
- Flexibility:
Availability to work nights and weekends throughout the hockey season.
- Technical Aptitude:
Experience with Zamboni operation, mechanical equipment, or skate
sharpening is a plus, but a strong willingness to learn is key.

- Status:
Seasonal, Part-Time (September – March); Schedule: Evenings and
weekends required
