Facilities Technician II

Facilities Technician II

Think of the Facilities Technician II as Proctor Academy’s resident superhero, holding the keys (and the toolbelt) to keep the campus running smoothly, safely, and looking sharp. Whether it's taming unruly HVAC systems, troubleshooting complex electrical setups, fixing furniture, or diving into plumbing repairs, this role covers it all. But the magic doesn't stop at the technical stuff—you'll also be the muscle behind event setups, snow removal during those chilly New Hampshire winters, and routine recycling runs, all while executing critical preventive safety checks to keep everyone out of harm's way.

To wear this cape, you'll need a high school diploma backed by either a professional trade license (like plumber or electrician) or a solid 10+ years of hands-on facility maintenance experience, alongside a valid NH driver's license. Success here takes a master juggler who can tackle ever-changing priorities with a great attitude, communicate seamlessly across campus, and step up to mentor fellow team members. Physical stamina is a must—you'll spend your days on your feet bending, reaching, and frequently lifting gear up to 50 pounds.

It’s a full-time, hands-on gig with a primary schedule of Sunday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm. However, since campus emergencies and weather don't always stick to a regular clock, flexibility is key—shifts can occasionally include overnights, weekends, or holidays when duty calls.
