Fulltime Hammonton Xray Tech
Position Summary:
The
X-ray technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures
using X-ray equipment to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing and treating
medical conditions. The technologist works closely with physicians and other
medical professionals to ensure accurate diagnostic imaging while adhering to
safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure.
Essential
Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform high-quality X-ray exams for patients, including
positioning, exposure settings, and following proper protocols for imaging
procedures.
·
Ensure patient comfort, safety, and privacy while preparing and
assisting them during the imaging process.
·
Evaluate images for clarity, accuracy, and proper positioning,
reporting any issues to the supervising physician or radiologist.
·
Maintain and operate X-ray equipment, troubleshooting, and
ensuring compliance with safety standards.
·
Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to
patients, staff, and self, including the use of protective gear (e.g., lead
aprons) when necessary.
·
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including
imaging results, reports, and documentation of procedures performed.
·
Communicate effectively with patients, medical staff and
physicians to ensure smooth workflow and clear understanding of imaging
results.
·
Adhere to infection control, safety and quality assurance
standards to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
·
Respond to urgent care patients promptly, ensuring timely and
efficient imaging in fast-paced situations.
·
Assist with inventory management, ensuring that X-ray supplies
and materials are properly stocked and stored.
·
Stay updated with the latest advancements in radiologic
technology, attend continuing education classes to maintain X-ray license and
certification and adhere to all relevant healthcare regulations and guidelines.
·
Operate digital X-ray equipment, viewing stations and PACS
(Picture Archiving and Communication System) for diagnostic imaging purposes.
·
Coordinate and schedule ancillary diagnostic procedures, such as
CT and ultrasound, in collaboration with Cooper University Hospital Cape
Regional, as required.
·
Assume receptionist duties during periods when not engaged in
X-ray procedures, following the responsibilities outlined in the receptionist
job description.
·
Provide training and support to new staff members as requested,
ensuring they are familiar with operational protocols.
·
Participate in staff meetings and review internal
communications, including emails, huddle notes, and the Reference Guide, to
stay informed on organizational updates.
·
Consistently wear a professional identification badge marked
"X-ray Tech" and the approved uniform displaying the CRUC logo for
identification.
·
Greet patients and visitors upon arrival, verify their identity and
collect necessary patient information as needed for registration.
·
Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the waiting area,
reception desk, restrooms, and break room to maintain a welcoming environment.
·
Adhere to proper phone etiquette as outlined in the CRUC
Reference Guide and assist patients with billing inquiries in a professional
manner.
·
Other duties as assigned.

This
position does not oversee staff.

Education/Experience
- A minimum of a completed
Certificate Program in Radiologic Technology
- Previous X-ray technology
experience

radiation.

Pay Range
The compensation range for this position is $31to $35.50 per
hour
Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience,
skills, qualifications, and internal equity.
