POSITION
SUMMARY:
The
Controller is responsible for supporting the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in
ensuring the effective operation of the accounting and financial reporting
functions by performing or supervising various accounting duties. Those duties
include but are not limited to the daily Accounting Department operations and
providing operations and financial related reporting to senior leadership. This
position will work closely with the CFO to provide for a comprehensive and
well-rounded financial management team. The Controller also assists the CFO in
various projects, aids in internal and external audits, and trouble shoots
department related issues. Performance of the duties requires excellent
organization, management, analytical, communication and reporting skills.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS: (Listed in

qualified to do the task).
1.
Strengthen financial governance by
ensuring internal accounting and reporting controls are not only compliant but
proactively optimized to mitigate risk and support organizational transparency.
2.
Lead proactive financial analysis by
evaluating income and expense trends in real-time, identifying material
variances, and recommending strategic adjustments to inform decision-making
before month-end close.
3.
Oversee the integrity of month-end
close processes, ensuring timely, accurate financial adjustments,
reconciliations, and reporting that align with strategic business cycles and
compliance standards.
4.
Direct payroll accounting
operations, ensuring accurate and timely reporting that supports workforce
planning, budgeting, and regulatory compliance on a monthly and quarterly
basis.
5.
Drive continuous improvement in the
internal control process, policies and procedures including but not limited to
the reconciliations of the general ledger accounts and supporting reports.
6.
Maintain knowledge and assist with
implementing new accounting standards as needed while assessing organizational
impact and leading cross-functional implementation to ensure compliance and
operational readiness.
7.
Partner with the CFO on strategic
initiatives, contributing financial insights and project management to support
high-impact projects and long-term organizational goals.
8.
Elevate board reporting by preparing
insightful financial reports and dashboards that highlight key performance
indicators and support strategic governance.
9.
Support during internal and external
audits, ensuring timely, thorough, and transparent communication while
supporting a culture of accountability and audit-readiness.
10.
Provide strategic financial support
across departments, conducting research and offering guidance to ensure
alignment with fiscal goals, operational efficiency, and informed
decision-making.
11.
Direct and ensure timely submission,
accuracy, and analysis of Asset Liability Management (ALM) reports in
preparation for quarterly ALCO meetings.
12.
Oversee comprehensive liquidity
management, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly monitoring and
forecasting to support sound financial decision-making and regulatory
compliance.
13.
Lead the organization’s annual
budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop strategic
financial plans aligned with organizational goals.
14.
Manage and monitor Federal Home Loan
Bank (FHLB) advances, ensuring optimal utilization, collateral sufficiency, and
alignment with short- and long-term funding strategies.
15.
Oversee the bank’s investment
portfolio, including monitoring performance, ensuring compliance with policy
and regulatory guidelines, and aligning investment strategies with balance
sheet goals.

current knowledge of bank compliance standards and performs all aspects of the
job in accordance with those standards; including, but not limited to, Bank

KNOWLEDGE
AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's
degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
CPA
Certification and Experience Preferred
Advanced
Microsoft Office skills
Five
years minimum experience in accounting or in related banking industry including
strong experience in asset/liability management theory and practice.
Thorough
knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices, tax laws and related
legislation, regulations and reporting procedures, banking compliance regulations
and reporting procedures

computer skills including accounting, spreadsheets, asset liability management
software
Excellent
interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
Good
math aptitude
