Production Costumer & Props
Manager
Production
Costumer & Props Manager will support the theater productions. This role is
responsible for designing, sourcing, and creating costumes, overseeing prop
selection and organization, and managing wardrobe and prop collections and
storage areas. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, detail-oriented
professional with a passion for theatrical design and student engagement. This
role is part of Proctor’s afternoon activity program and includes instructional
responsibilities, mentoring students in costume and props design, sewing, and
related theatrical production skills. In addition to afternoon activities, this
role includes limited evening and weekend hours during production weeks and as
assigned.
Technical Theater Director
The
Technical Theater Director oversees all aspects of technical production for
Proctor Academy’s performing arts program. This role instructs, mentors, and
supervises student crews in set construction, lighting, sound, and run of show.
This highly collaborative, team-focused position works closely with team
members in the arts and the greater community to meet programmatic needs. In
addition to afternoon activities, this role includes limited evening and
weekend hours during production weeks and as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability
to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Strong
interpersonal skills and team-oriented professional approach
- Ability
to manage the pedagogical and academic application of the above essential
functions.
- Bachelor’s
degree in Technical Theater, Production Management, Education, or related
field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Professional
experience in technical theater and theater facility management, including
lighting, sound, and rigging systems, with an emphasis on theater lighting
and lighting design.
- Proficiency
in scenic design, set construction, and safety standards for technical
theater.
- Strong
carpentry and woodworking skills.
- Ability
to mentor students in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Commitment
to fostering a culture of belonging in the arts and the wider school
community.
