Full Time Medical Assistant Cape May Court House

Position Summary

The Urgent Care Medical Assistant works collaboratively as an active member of the interprofessional team to provide therapeutic and quality patient care. The Medical Assistant continuously collects data related to the patient’s health status and executes the plan of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the interprofessional team to deliver care as outlined in the CRUC Medical Assistant Skills Checklist.
  • Collect and assess patient health data and history systematically, contributing to the development of a patient-centered care plan in collaboration with the care team.
  • Accurately document interventions, patient education and communication in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), ensuring a comprehensive and integrated approach to patient care.
  • Provide safe, ethical, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based care tailored to each patient's unique needs.
  • Perform patient triage and focused clinical assessments to support efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Assist in managing urgent and emergent patient care situations, following established protocols and provider direction.
  • Perform specimen collection for point-of-care and send-out lab testing, EKGs, ear irrigations, wound care, splinting, and other procedures as ordered by the provider.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations, and perform venipuncture as permitted by certification or licensure.
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures as needed, ensuring efficient and effective workflow.
  • Perform daily cleaning, stocking and monitoring of medical supplies and related inventory. Maintain cleanliness and functionality of medical equipment, including autoclaving instruments.
  • Assist in onboarding and training new employees as requested.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to maintain nursing licensure and certifications.
  • Participate in staff meetings and review internal communications, including emails, huddle notes, and the Reference Guide, to stay informed on organizational updates.
  • Consistently wear a professional identification and the approved uniform displaying the CRUC logo for identification
  • Perform daily quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with standards and protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

The compensation range for this position is $18 to $21.50 per hour
Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and internal equity.

Qualifications

·         High School diploma or equivalent.

·         Completion of New Jersey state-approved LPN or Practical Nursing program

·         Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent medication administration skills
  • Ability to assess patients and triage accordingly.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant preferred.  
  • Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
  • LPN certification required for LPN candidates.
